"World of Darkness Stories" es una idea que se está desarrollando por Facebook (y creo que también por Instagram) en la que se van subiendo pequeñas historias de MdT en distintas ciudades del mundo. Son pequeños retazos de sensaciones, pensamientos y vivencias que pueden ser inspiradores para partidas.

De momento hay tres colgados, uno en San Petersburgo, otro de Londres y otro de Lviv.

Últimas entregas. Van en inglés directamente.

Niza, Francia

"You'd think the supernatural part of our society would be more enlightened or advanced, but once you take a step into it, it's like moving backwards. First you notice how completely technologically clueless most of them are. Then you get to know the older folks, with their views frozen for decades, acting like history hasn't taught us anything. Then you learn more about their politics, and it's middle ages all over again, monarchy and vassalage in the twenty-first century. And then you see them act, watch their behavior, and it's like evolution in reverse. It's a simple food chain, predators and prey, with no philosophical nuance or questioning the morality of their actions. It's easy to mistake Camarilla Kindred for what they want you to see - modern skyscrapers, well-fitted suits, charismatic leaders. Make no mistake, their real face is covered in blood, with no humanity left in their hungry eyes."

"I'm sure you'll meet those of us who are not so... eager to endorse the Camarilla, to put it lightly. What have you heard already? Let me guess - feudalism, medievalism, corporate machiavellianism, everything you hate about politics made even worse, somehow? Excuse my chuckle - I don't blame them, I really don't. If you're bad at the climb, you fall off the ladder, and you certainly can't see the view from down there. The climb is harsh, probably harder than anything you've ever done in your lifetime. It's easy to give up with so many obstacles blocking your way.... You think old pricks embraced in the 1920's would just let me surpass them without a fight? The satisfaction of pushing them off their seats and taking their place is more than Anarchs could ever offer me. I don't care about their noble ideas. Knowledge, power, influence, resources, stability, safety - these may not look as good when sprayed on the walls, but without them, I would be at the bottom now. And I do not belong there."

"You may never see the sun again. You may never eat food again. Your body is dead, your heartbeat is gone, you've lost your chance at redemption, and now, only darkness awaits you. These are the universal truths you're told not long after your Embrace, in your most vulnerable moment, when you desperately grasp for any knowledge to help you in defining yourself again. You take what they give, as there's no other choice - it's not like you can borrow a book on the topic or go see a specialist. These "truths" force you into submission. Believing their words means giving up on yourself, only to become the monster they want you to be. But you haven't lost everything on the night you died. They tell you accepting your losses is the first step to prolonged survival, but they cannot be more wrong. Do you want to feel alive again? Disregard what they say. Cling to your memories of life, to your morals, to what guided your path when you were still breathing. And who knows, maybe your heart will beat again. There are enough stories out there to hope it's possible."

Iasi, Rumanía

"It's natural for the old to fear the young. Fresh blood, youth in possession of new ideas and modern tools - it's all we need to replace the withering old grumps. They hope to scare us with their rules and punishments, but all that causes is retaliation. Make them angry. Make them lose it. Nothing tilts an old Cammy fucker more than a face that has recently felt the rays of the sun."

"Forever is a constant struggle against daunting repetition. What keeps me alive - in a metaphorical sense, at least - is the chase. I chase emotional peaks, the pinnacles of joy, love, pleasure. Moments that leave you almost remembering what it felt like to breathe. Moments that you'd photograph and frame, showing them to your grandkids as the best things that ever happened to you. A bended knee and a diamond, his smile at the altar... I couldn't care less about what comes next. I'm not interested in downward slopes. He'll keep searching for me for a while, but will eventually give up, find himself a distraction, a replacement. They always do."

"We're often underestimated or misjudged because we never really settle down. Others believe we're runaways, always looking ahead, burning all bridges behind us and never, ever looking back. How can someone so focused on running have any impact on what's happening locally? How can they gain power or influence? How can they befriend anyone, form relationships? They think we can be ignored, that we're not a threat. And sure - we're all riders on the move, never truly resting, never still. But some of us keep riding in circles, have a place we call home. Just because we jump beds each night doesn't mean we don't come back to the same beds few nights after. Everyone wants to belong somewhere. I'm no different."

"They call us Lunatics, and it makes no sense. People used to believe the changing lunar phases affect our psyche, but nothing I see in the sky seems to change how I feel. Distressed. Burdened. Scared. They say my clan's curse is one of the worst ones; I wouldn't change it for any other. They may have their peace, but I have the knowledge of what's going to come for them."

Tomsk, Rusia

"Imagine being able to shape your body however you please. Think beyond the fat and muscle, beyond "more here, less there," beyond color of your pupils and density of hair. God's original creation is imperfect; our bodies are clumsy and flawed, our flesh could be rearranged for better performance, our bone structure redefined to make us more stable or to move faster. What would you do with the power to mold yourself like clay?"

Minsk, Bielorrusia

"I kept my job. What would I do without it? Lurk in the shadows all night, with blood being the only thing on my mind? Sounds like a one-way ticket to the dark nowhere. My work keeps me grounded, having less time for stupid ideas helps maintain a clear record. And I get paid. I don't need to pay the rent anymore - feeding landlord my blood was one of the best tips I got early on - so whatever I save on that and food, I use to support my family. Yes, I remain in touch with them, maybe not as often now. I cut the visits once I learned they'd be in serious trouble if anyone found out. But I can't just ghost them. It's my mom, it's my brother. Who would I become if I just left them?"

"Back when cybercafes were really big, I used to work night shift at one. It's gone now. Closed up shop a few years back. But that's not important. There was this girl who used to come in 1AM every morning: real pretty, with just this elaborate hair-do. She looked like she'd come from one of those Korean period dramas, you know? Like, straight from the set. Except she'd dressed up in normal clothes.
Anyway, she'd come in every night and she'd play MMOs until about 5AM. The boys in the cyber cafe went wild over her, but she wasn't interested. She just wanted to play. What was weird was that she didn't do any raids, no arena, no PvP. She just ran her little characters all over the map and sometimes, when she found a good outcropping, she'd park her character and pull out a book to read.
I asked her once why she did that and she said, "I like how the sun looks in these games."
I still think about that a lot."

The legend of the Easter Bunny

They say that on the day of easter, a strange, amusing bunny strolls around the forests near the cities and towns to organize the greatest egg hunt! Wait, you don’t believe me? Huh! It does seem to me like I make an egg hunt every year... ah ah! Don’t worry, no one is too grown up to play! What matters is that you have a children’s heart to guide you! You know, the more you believe in me, the more this egg hunt will be magical, extraordinary and fun! Now stop babbling, we need to find the golden egg! I beg your pardon? You don’t know the legend of the golden egg? Pfah! Fine, let me share the story then.

Every easter, I come and hide a golden egg somewhere in this forest - an egg in which I infused my essence to make it magical! Only a courageous, curious and kindhearted child will be able to find it! And if one was to find it, it would grant them a wish - a single wish. Unfortunately, no one has been able to find it in ages! I gotta say, I am quite the expert when it comes to hide and seek!

So! Will you be the next one to find the golden egg? Let the hunt begin!
