SECCIÓN PREÁMBULOS - Parte 1 -Preludio de Amant Polidor de Salvá

La estructura era similar a la estructura amurallada existente en la pradera, aunque debido a la proximidad al mar, se encontraba más deteriorada, y había alguna grieta en las paredes exteriores.

Había algunas zonas vulnerables en la pared externa que uno podría aprovechar para infiltrarse si tenía un pico o una herramienta apropiada. Asímismo, dos pasillos estrechos de acceso por el exterior, hacían que de venir un grupo externo, alguien que vigilara desde arriba se fijara en los mismos, dejando otras zonas de posible acceso sin vigilancia alguna, y por tanto nadie utilizaría el fusil colocado en lo alto para disparar a los intrusos del exterior.

Había varias galerías de pasillos en el interior, separadas por una zona central y dos niveles bajo tierra la zona del almacén, que es donde en la edificación de la pradera estarían las armas escondidas, el objetivo.

Una edificación de esas características que estuviera en uso tendría una dotación de al menos, 30 hombres. Entre ellos, un teniente y un cabo, como oficiales y el resto soldados rasos. Pero si uno jugaba bien sus cartas...incluso podría pasar desapercibido.

Cuando llevaba andando por el campo 5 minutos, lo encontró el perro, que se pegó nuevamente a él, parecía decidido a hacerse su nuevo amigo y acompañante. Había encontrado un nuevo Amo.
Tras 15 minutos de andar acompañado del perro el sirviente del Conde se cruzó con ellos. Al parecer, tambié los estaba buscando.

Tras confirmar el nombre del perrito, le indico a Amath que lo cuide mientras voy de regreso al pueblo. Luego, agradezco la cinta métrica con una exclamación.

Abro la puerta y llamo a las sirvientas para pedirles sus informes.

En el Hostal, las sirvientas se presentaron ante Amant al llegar éste, una de ellas reía a mandíbula batiente.

Martha entonces se adelantó. Era su turno.

Procedo al agradecimento profundo y lleno de gozo, abrazando cordialmente a Francie y Martha. Felicito a cada una por su excelente trabajo y el aporte que han realizado al ejército de Estados Unidos, con escasas palabras profundas y sentidas, sin intentar ocultar la emoción por su desempeño o por la noticia del telegrama que mantengo todo el tiempo pegado al pecho junto a mi corazón.

Ha sido una gran aventura, pero acaba de comenzar la odisea. Protegerme es sencillo, proteger a mi esposa será complicado, pues la imposibilidad de evitar que intente protegerme es un hecho.

Les invito a salir y tras cerrar bien la puerta, salto por la ventana y me dirijo al cementerio. Busco un pequeño jardín sin muchas tumbas y abro el telegrama, leyéndolo con mucha atención.

Cerca de allí, en una zona tras una pequeña iglesia, había un jardincito pegado al cementerio. estaba desierto. Las amapolas brotaban hermosas, la hierba verde relucía destellante de vida. Comenzaba a atardecer, dos petirrojos pasaron volando cercano y luego se posaron en un bello abeto del jardín, el cual estaba floreciendo. Una ardilla se asomó desde una de las ramas, mirando a Amant.

Era el sitio y el momento perfectos para poder leer el telegrama de forma relajada y sin ser importunado por nadie.


El telegrama rezaba lo siguiente:

Dejo que la ardilla se acerque a recoger las bellotas, mientras aprieto el telegrama contra mi pecho. Disfruto de unos pocos instantes, antes de destruirlo, asegurándome así de mantener mi cobertura.

Al menos he evitado que venga directamente hasta aquí. Así tendré tiempo para buscar ropa adecuada para ella y preparar a las sirvientas.

Verifico el Sol en el cielo, para saber si todavía es media tarde o ya se acerca el ocaso. Si me queda tiempo, tras retocar mi maquillaje, procedo a realizar una breve visita a la iglesia para verificar cómo va todo con la reparación del campanario. En caso contrario, marcho directamente a la hacienda para la clase de lushootseed.
